Budapest raceweek nightlife guide 2026

A practical plan for the 24–26 July Hungarian Grand Prix weekend: official track times, the circuit journey, where to base yourself and how to get home after dark.

Key Hungarian Grand Prix times

  • Friday 24 July: Practice 1 at 13:30 and Practice 2 at 17:00.
  • Saturday 25 July: Qualifying at 16:00.
  • Sunday 26 July: Grand Prix at 15:00.

Getting between Budapest and the Hungaroring

Hungaroring recommends public transport. The official 2026 plan increases H8 HÉV capacity and connects Kerepes station with Gate 3 by free fan shuttle. BKK also lists a 24-hour F1 Hungaroring combined ticket covering almost all relevant Budapest and Pest County services; the 100E Airport Express is excluded.

Where to base a Budapest raceweek night

District VII is the practical high-energy starting point for its concentration of ruin pubs, bars and late venues. Deák Ferenc tér is useful when transport connections matter most. The Danube and Buda suit a slower evening, but check the final river crossing and night route before committing.

  1. Save the official circuit return route.
  2. Confirm each venue's address, opening time, entry policy and ticket source directly.
